Supplementary provisions regarding the handling of personal data of European residents

Our group companies

We also share and disclose Personal Data of Customers to third party contractors only within the scope necessary for fulfilling the outsourced business. In such cases, we carefully select the contractors, conclude necessary data processing agreement with them, and periodically monitor how they handle Personal Data.
In connection to the aforementioned sharing and disclosure, we may also transfer the Personal Data of Customers to third countries outside of Europe. When transferring Personal Data from Europe to Japan, we do so on the basis of mutual adequacy recognition between Japan and the European Union.

Customers have the right to request, without undue delay, the correction of their inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data.

If certain requirements are met, Customers have the right to request the deletion of their Personal Data.

(5) The right to request restriction on processing of Personal Data

If certain requirements are met, Customers have the right to request restriction on the processing of their Personal Data.

(6) The right to object to the processing of Personal Data

If certain requirements are met, Customers have the right to object to the processing of their Personal Data.

(7) Data portability of Personal Data

If certain requirements are met, Customers have the right to receive their Personal Data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and to request the transfer of the said Personal Data to a different manager without any interference from us.

(8) The right not to be subject to automated decision-making

If certain requirements are met, Customers have the right to exclude themselves from being subject to decision making (including profiling) that is based only on automated data processing and that could have a legal or similar serious consequence for the Customers.

Supplementary provisions regarding the handling of personal data of California residents

Information that identifies customers (hereinafter, “Customers”) or households residing in the state of California, United States, as well as information that relates to them, describes them, can reasonably be associated with them, or can reasonably be linked directly or indirectly to them (hereinafter, “Personal Information”) shall be handled according to the California Consumer Privacy Act (hereinafter, “CCPA”) and be subject to the aforementioned privacy policy and these supplementary provisions. We shall disclose the following information to Customers after confirming that the received requests have been made by the Customers themselves.

We shall delete the Personal Information from our records or instruct the same to our contractors after confirming that the received requests have been made by the Customers themselves.

(3) The right not to be discriminated against

We do not discriminate against Customers nor conduct any of the following as a result of Customers exercising their rights based on CCPA.

  • Refuse to provide services and products to Customers
  • Impose different prices for the services and products provided to Customers (including the application of discounts, rebates or other benefits or the imposition of penalties)
  • Provide services and products of different levels or quality to Customers
  • Suggest the provision of services and products at different prices, charges, levels, or quality to Customers

Customers may make requests pertaining to their Personal Information through an agent by authorizing someone registered with the California Secretary of State to act on their behalf and providing us with a document certifying this. Customers who are a minor can also make the request through their guardians as their agent.
